Mon parcours musical

Penelope Poi Yen Chin (陈佩莹) is a Malaysian born Chinese with Korean from Kuala Lumpur. Penelope moved to Melbourne, Australia, to pursue tertiary education, and studied with Dr Mark McGee. Before moving to Melbourne, she studied with Loo Bang Hean. In 2011, she was awarded distinction in Licentiate Performance Diploma by Trinity Guildhall and was recognised by the Chief Examiner as an outstanding scholar. Recently, after graduating from the Melbourne Conservatorium, she continues studying under the guidance of Igor Mikhailovich Machlak. Apart from that, she also studied harpsichord continuo with Ann Murphy-Morgan during her final years in Australia. As a music student, Penelope is very interested in musicology, particularly music analysis and historical performance practice. Recently, she completed Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Performance in the music school of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance and Music, London, under the guidance of Professor Mikhail Borisovich Kazakevich. She is currently studying with Norma Fisher.
