Levon Mouradian was the Silver Medal winner in the 1985 Pablo Casals International Cello Competition. He was a prize winner in the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow, and in 1997 he achieved First Prize for Cello in the Julio Cardona International Bow Instruments’ Competition in Covilha, Portugal. .Since 1996, Levon Mouradian has been directing the cello class in the department of Arts at the State University in Evora, Portugal. He regularly gives advanced classes at the “Valle De Arlanza” and «Noeva Generaciòn Musical», festivals in Spain, and at the International Festival in Viana do Castello, together with Ivan Monigetti.Nathaniel Rosen, among others.He has taught Master Class on the invitation of the University of Georgia (U.S.A.).He has performed as soloist and in chamber music groups at major international Music Festivals, in particular in those of Munich (Nachtstuke), David Oistrakh Festival, Santander (Interational Music Festival), Burgos… He has made various CD among which one edited by Clave Records (Spain) which features the A. Babadjanian Piano Trio and Seven Pieces by Komitas Aslamazian (Clave Records, Spain),Shostakovich viola sonata0p.147, and two CD’s with the Piano Trio and Piano Quartet and cello works by the Dutch composer Wim Zwaag (Dutch Record Company, Holland), among which a cello and piano sonata which was dedicated to him, A cello concerto composed by Ivan Moody was also dedicated to him. Levon Mouradian plays on a XVIII century Venetian cello from Gofriller workshop.
