The composer ANDERSEN VIANA (Belo Horizonte-Brazil) was one of 12 (twelve) artists chosed between maestros of the whole Latin America and Europe to participate of the First National Residence of Musical Composition that makes part of the “Programa Argentino de Moradas del Pensamiento y las Artes” (PAMPA) promoted by Ministry of Culture of Argentina.

About 50 composers of the whole Latin America and Europe sent their work to this competition, which was done anonymously. Besides a generous amount ($) in Pesos, his musical work will be edited, published, recorded and played by the symphonic bands in Buenos Aires during the year.

The aim of this competition is to stimulate the new music from Latin-America and Europe composed for Symphonic Band, offering an appropriated space to these people to develop their creativity, to create unpublished and new music; to meet with musicians of several points of the continent with participation of recognized artists, at a place where if it provides the creative activity and cultural integration.

Andersen’s music has also some jazz references and arising from rhythms of the Brazilian folklore, trying to do, at the same time, a new approach to the orchestral music, using elements from various aesthetics and cross culture, that could be understood universally.
